The Company conducts its operations through wholly owned subsidiaries, partnerships and joint ventures. The Company is primarily focused on gold properties, some of which also have copper, silver and zinc resources. On January 8, 2009, the Company completed the sale of its holdings in Alexco Resource Corp. On October 16, 2009, the Company sold its wholly owned subsidiary, Murray Brook Resources Inc. On January 7, 2010, NovaGold and its wholly owned subsidiary, Alaska Gold Company, purchased a 100% interest in the Ambler property in northern Alaska."
