"Community Health Systems, Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides general hospital healthcare services in the United States. It owns, leases, and operates acute care hospitals. The company's hospitals offer a range of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services, which include orthopedics, cardiology, occupational medicine, diagnostic services, emergency services, rehabilitation treatment, home health services, and skilled nursing services. It also owns imaging centers and ambulatory surgery centers through partnerships with physicians- and owns and operates home health agencies, including four home health agencies. As of December 31, 2007, Community Health Systems owned, leased, or operated 115 hospitals, with an aggregate of 16,971 licensed beds in 27 states. The company was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee."
