"Celgene Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company, engages in the discovery, development, and commercialization of innovative therapies to treat cancer and immune-inflammatory related diseases in Europe and the United States. Its primary commercial stage products include REVLIMID (lenalidomide) for the treatment in combination with dexamethasone for multiple myeloma patients who have received at least one prior therapy, as well as for the treatment of patients with transfusion-dependent anemia due to low- or intermediate-1-risk myelodysplastic syndromes associated (MDS) with a deletion 5q cytogenetic abnormality with or without additional cytogenetic abnormalities- and THALOMID (thalidomide) for the treatment in combination with dexamethasone of patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma, as well as for the treatment and suppression of cutaneous manifestations of erythema nodosum leprosum, an inflammatory complication of leprosy. The company also sells ALKERAN, through a supply and distribution agreement with GlaxoSmithKline, for the palliative treatment of multiple myeloma and of carcinoma of the ovary- and FOCALIN for the treatment of oncology-related disorders. Celgene's products in pipeline primarily include CC-4047, a Phase III clinical trial product for the treatment of sickle cell anemia- CC-10004, a Phase II product for Psoriasis Psoriatic arthritis inflammatory diseases- and CC-11006, a Phase I-II trial product in MDS, for Hematological malignances. Celgene Corporation has a strategic collaboration with Acceleron Pharma, Inc. for the joint development and commercialization of ACE-011. The company was founded in 1980 and is headquartered in Summit, New Jersey."
